Describe the juice at the filler inlet
Provide the formulation, density where available, filling temperature and expected flow range. Identify whether the product is clarified or contains pulp. A product name alone does not describe its filling behaviour. If several products share the cell, list the range and the conditions that change between them.
Match flow and final fill control
Foam and variable flow can affect the final filling phase and package handling. Discuss the inlet pressure window, flow control and stopping sequence with the supplier. Net-weight acceptance should use the actual product and package under agreed conditions, including tare, settling and the measurement method.
Specify the package and cleaning boundary
Bag-in-box, drum and bin formats require separate interface checks. Identify the bag supplier, fitment revision and package handling sequence. Map the product-contact path and cleaning return, including any components outside the CIP circuit. Product treatment remains an upstream responsibility; filling preserves the agreed aseptic state.
PRACTICAL ANSWERS
Frequently asked questions
Can the same filler handle clear juice and pulpy juice?
Confirm the maximum pulp or particle characteristics, valve passages and inlet conditions for each product. Shared product names do not prove a common operating envelope.
Does aseptic filling establish shelf life?
Shelf life depends on the product process, package barrier, closure integrity and storage conditions. It cannot be assigned from the filler alone.
What should a juice enquiry include?
Include formulation, pulp content, temperature, package and fitment, target mass, daily output and upstream process details.
